Acts 5:12 The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade. 13 No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. 14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.
Peter starts out life as an uneducated fisherman. He had little to no formal schooling and his manners weren’t so great. He was rough around the edges and the Bible records that when He first starting following Jesus he would say a lot of stupid things and he even used to use plenty of curse words.
Peter’s life was failed, before he met Jesus. But Jesus transformed Peter completely. So much so that now they are laying sick people on the street, so that while Peter was walking down the street, his shadow would touch the people and they would be instantly and completely healed.
And that’s exactly what God is doing for you right now if you follow Him. You don’t even know it but He’s transforming your life and taking everything that’s happened to you in the past and using it for your good, for your success, for your victory. He didn’t do those bad things to you, but He’s using everything that happened to you and turning it into something good.
Later on in life the government finally arrested and sentenced Peter to death for preaching Jesus, something they tried and failed at many times before. Peter was to be crucified, but He loved Jesus so much he made a request that since he wasn’t worthy to be held equal to Jesus, that they crucify him upside down, which they did.
Pray that you would love Jesus as much as Saint Peter did.
